Was playing yesterday, left for a few hours and when I came back I could not join any l4d2 game. Keep getting the same message. "Client Timed Out". I restarted steam, my PC and my modem. Nothing. I waited a day. Nothing. I found some "fixes" (+clientport 270XX) on google, but still nothing. Does anyone have any idea?
So I got in after accel restarted the server, played for 10 minutes and then lost connection with "client timed out" again. I blame Putin! That little shit! XD
So I found a fix. Under set launch options I added "-dxlevel 95" and now it works again. I don't know what it actually does (direct x issue I guess?) but it does work XD I guess it wasn't Putin. This time.
Hey, I've had the same issue. I fixed my problem by opening the console and seeing which files were failing to load, I then deleted them. After this, I validated my games files and cleared my download cache, and then the game worked fine.
